Windows owners can now watch movies and TV on the go.
Netflix has announced that a new, updated version of the Netflix App is now available to Windows Phone 7 owners in the UK.
Launched in the UK back in January, Netflix has previously only been available for iPhone and Android owners. The launch of the Windows Phone app is good news for film fans using Microsoft’s smartphone platform.
Netflix allows subscribers to stream films and TV shows to computers, phones, tablets and other devices. The service costs £5.99 and once signed up, members can watch as much or as little as they like from the service’s library.
The new application lets users stream content via a Wi-Fi or 3G mobile broadband connection. It’s compatible with all Windows Phones, from all manufacturers, including HTC, LG, Nokia and Samsung. The app is available to download for free from the Windows Phone Marketplace, but requires a Netflix subscription to view content.
Greg Peters, vice president of product development at Netflix said: “With Netflix for Windows Phone, users in the UK, Ireland and Latin America can now enjoy TV programmes and films on the go.
“Existing Netflix members in the UK, Ireland and Latin America now have greater flexibility than ever in enjoying Netflix wherever and whenever they want.”
