Watch your team score on your Apple iPhone or iPad.
Sports broadcaster ESPN has secured the rights to transmit clips of football matches directly onto mobile phone screens.
The rights will – from August - let ESPN broadcast “in-match, post-match and customized highlights” of all 380 Barclays Premier League matches directly to mobile phones for the next three seasons.
The video highlights will include, for example, football goals and tackles. But ESPN's service won't provide full-length game coverage on your mobile phone.
ESPN has yet to announce which mobile devices it will support. But iPhone and iPad owners are likely targets because the broadcaster has already launched an application – ScoreCenter - for both Apple gadgets.
It’s reasonable to assume that other web-connected devices, including PCs, will also be able to access ESPN’s video sports clips.
Packages, price plans and network operator deals will be announced within weeks, ESPN promised.
